Dangerous fog makes morning drive hazardous

News-DemocratApril 29, 2013

Dense fog could make the morning drive hazardous for metro-east commuters Monday.

Visibility is expected to be a quarter-mile or less until about 8 a.m. when the fog will start to burn off. In some places visibility will be near zero.

After the fog clears, temperatures should warm up quickly.

At 6 a.m. the mercury read 44 degrees in St. Louis. By noon the temperature will climb into the mid 70s and by about 3 p.m. it will reach a high of 80 degrees under sunny skies.

Highs in the 80s are also expected Tuesday and Wednesday. The warm, dry weather will come to an end Thursday with a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms and a high of 64.
