Caseyville police need public's help locating suspect

Caseyville Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating Dennis H. Pea of Caseyville.

Pea, 25, of the 300 block of Rich St., was charged by St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office last week with aggravated battery, a class 2 felony; unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony; and for driving under the influence of drugs, a class A misdemeanor.

These charges stemmed from an incident in December. Caseyville police responded to the 400 block of South Main Street in reference a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway at 4:39 p.m. Dec. 21.

Upon the arrival of Caseyville officers, the driver identified as Pea was found to be impaired and under the influence of drugs. He had several oxycodone pills on his person and had a suspended Illinois driver's license, according to police.

While on scene, Pea allegedly attacked officers by kicking, pushing, striking and biting them. The subject eventually was restrained and transported to Belleville Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information about Pea is asked to call the Caseyville police dispatch center at 618-277-3500 or local law enforcement agency.
