Get ready for the cold and wet: Storms on the way

The weather will make a change for the worse starting Thursday afternoon.

Storms will roll into the metro-east by dinnertime, bringing much cooler temperatures and heavy rain at times.

After a high in the mid to upper 70s Thursday afternoon, the mercury will drop 30 degrees overnight, then rise only into the low 50s on Friday.

There's a 60 percent chance of rain Thursday evening, rising to 90 percent on Friday.

Some of the rain will be heavy with as much as 2 1/2 inches of precipitation by the end of the workweek.

Clearing skies Saturday will see a high only in the mid-50s, with clouds and a high in the low 60s on Sunday.
