Never was a pension benefit

May 2, 2013

This is in response to a Sound-off caller's comment concerning pension benefits in St. Clair Township. The township has never given trustees pension benefits; pension benefits were never part of the benefit package offered. I knew this going in when I was elected in 2009 as a trustee, so why did Supervisor Tim Buchanan and trustee Greg Bridgman want to vote on cutting pension benefits to trustees? They both knew trustees never received benefits in the first place, so why vote?

Surely Buchanan, Bridgman and the Common Sense Party did not tell voters they put a stop to pension benefits for trustees in St. Clair Township, or did they?

My position was validated by township voters on April 9.
