Collinsville man accused of robbing Fairview Heights Walgreens

Charges have been filed against the Collinsville man accused of robbing a Walgreens in Fairview Heights on Thursday.

Andrew L. Spillari, 25, of 609 N. Keebler Ave., was charged with robbery, theft from a person and theft-subsequent, according to the Fairview Heights Police Department.

He was being held in the St. Clair County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Police said a man robbed the Walgreens at 6505 N. Illinois St. about 3 a.m. Thursday. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

During the investigation police were able to identify the man and, with assistance from the Collinsville Police Department, were able to take him into custody without incident. No one was injured during the robbery.
