EDWARDSVILLE — A credit union near Southern Illinois University Edwardsville was robbed Monday by a man in a green fedora.
Police are seeking help identifying a man who allegedly robbed Scott Credit Union on Illinois Route 157 at approximately 2:11 p.m. Monday.
The man was wearing a dark green windbreaker with a matching dark green fedora hat and tan slacks. He was described as a 6-foot-tall white male, approximately 20 to 25 years old.
The man entered Scott Credit Union and gave a note to a teller demanding cash, while implying that he possessed a weapon. The man then fled on foot out of the credit union with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured in the robbery.
The credit union branch was adjacent to the SIUE campus. An electronic security alert was issued to all students.
