Edwardsville High baseball coach Tim Funkhouser picked up his 500th career victory Tuesday as the Tigers knocked off Collinsville 7-0 in a Southwestern Conference game.

St. Louis University recruit Drew Curtis hit a three-run homer in the sixth for Edwardsville and Cole Hagen pitched six strong innings for the Tigers (20-8). Blake Graham was 3-for-5 with an RBI for Edwardsville and Western Illinois recruit Jordan Heckler was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Funkhouser's career record at Edwardsville and Triad is 500-153.

Funkhouser, 41, who also played on a state championship team at Edwardsville, is the second straight Tigers' coach to reach at least 500 wins. Funkhouser's coach at Edwardsville was Tom Pile, who retired after the 1998 season with 511 wins and two state titles.

Edwardsville got one run in the second, two in the fourth, three in the sixth and another in the seventh against the Kahoks.
