News-DemocratMay 8, 2013

Mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 80 degrees are expected in the metro-east Wednesday.

But soggy lawns and swollen creeks won't get much of a break.

There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms in the forecast for Wednesday night, and a 60 percent chance for Thursday.

Thursday should see a high of 78 degrees, and a 40 percent chance of rain remains in the forecast for Friday with a high of 69.

The extended forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and a high of 70 degrees Saturday. Sunny skies are expected Sunday with a high of 59.
