Washington Park appoints new police chief

News DemocratMay 8, 2013

A former East St. Louis assistant police chief was named chief of police in Washington Park Tuesday night.

Aubrey Keller Sr. was appointed to the chief's job by newly elected Washington Park Mayor Ann Rodgers at the Village board meeting.

David Clark, the former chief of police, confirmed that he was replaced by Keller.

Clark said he is thankful for the time that he had to serve the people of Washington Park, his hometown.

"I did the best I could with what I had. I thank the citizens of Washington Park who worked with me and I thank those who helped me to become the police chief," Clark said.

Keller has been a member of law enforcement for many years. He retired from the East St. Louis Police Department.
