Illinoisans suffer from actions of politicians

May 11, 2013

I just paid my license fee for my pickup truck, $101. With gas at almost $4 a gallon, health care, groceries and all the other costs I have to contend with, I'm in trouble. I can't afford this.

I've worked all my life since I was 9 years old, when my father died. My mom, my brother and I had to make a buck any way we could. That was before all the payouts for freeloaders and dopeheads who exist now.

The state has raised the requirement for Circuit Breaker so I don't qualify for that anymore. It looks like our state is breaking the backs of residents to pull itself out of the hole that our leaders made.

Yes, the legislators and governors have created this mess with their fiscal irresponsibility. It's time to settle up, set things straight and get off the backs of all the citizens, senior and otherwise. Stop the ability to increase their pensions by getting another job for a few days. Stop the double- and triple-dipping. We have a retired senator who is drawing four pensions.

All we ask of our representatives is they represent us, not themselves or their friends.

Illinois is a joke in all the other states. Illinois is considered the most corrupt state in the nation.

How Illinois politicians can show their faces in public is beyond belief. They all need to be taken to the woodshed -- or more appropriately, the outhouse.
