A Caseyville man is facing a felony charge of aggravated domestic battery and other charges after allegedly beating his former girlfriend May 9, according to police.

Brandon J. Johnson, 27, allegedly grabbed the woman's neck in an attempt to choke her, threw her to the ground and punched her several times in the 900 block of Wells Avenue.

While fleeing the scene in a vehicle, he struck two vehicles -- one of which was occupied.

Along with the aggravated battery charge, Johnson faces charges of domestic battery, two felony counts of criminal damage to property and reckless driving. He was being held Monday in the St. Clair County Jail with bail set at $75,000 bond.
