Triad's Wright earns state Player of the Week honors

Triad High senior first baseman Keaton Wright has been named Porsche Exchange Player of the Week by Prep Baseball Report.

The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville recruit helped Triad win five of seven games while delivering 12 RBIs, three home runs and seven extra-base hits.

In the last three games he was 7-for-9 with two doubles, three home runs and 10 RBIs. He homered twice in a 8-7 loss to O'Fallon, collcting four RBIs.

Through Tuesday, Wright was hitting .466 with 17 doubles, six home runs and 34 RBIs for the Knights. A year ago he helped them to a fourth-place finish at the Class 3A state tournament.
