President Bush lied! The British's "Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction : The Assessment of the British Government," must mean they were part of a conspiracy. When Secretary of State Colin Powell went before the United Nations to make the case against Saddam Hussein, not one nation refuted our assessments. Thus was the entire world part of this conspiracy?
In Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 20, 2003, to Dec. 15, 2011, 4,486 people were killed. In Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) from Oct. 7, 2001, to now, 2,220 people have been killed.
From Jan. 1, 2003, to Dec. 31, 2012, in Chicago 4,797 people were murdered, 98 percent by handguns; 75 percent were black victims and 75 percent of the offenders were black. Chicago has a population of 2,695,598. The ethnic breakdown is 33 percent black, 32 percent white and 30 percent Latino. Of those 4,797 murders, 6 percent were white victims and 4 percent were white offenders.
In Iraq we removed a dictator who supported terrorism; we ended the mass murders of Iraqi citizens and the rape rooms. In Afghanistan we removed a regime complicit with those responsible for 9/11.
To letter writer Frankie Seaberry: What is the reason for the ultimate sacrifice in Chicago, which as some of the nation's toughest gun laws? Is she blaming it on the guns or again racism? What are President Obama, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Gov. Pat Quinn, the Democratic-controlled Illinois House and Senate and the African-American community doing about it?
