Food drive helps fill pantries

May 17, 2013

The Fairview Heights Area Food Pantry was once again a grateful recipient of food from the annual Postal Workers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on last Saturday. More than 4,000 items were received from the drive. Items were counted, shelved and crated by volunteers and friends from the pantry.

The postal drive is critical to our being able to help feed the growing number of families in our community who find themselves needing our assistance. We are so thankful for the help they provide every year.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all the other churches, schools and organizations that have brought in great quantities of food this year.

Please remember to continue to support your local pantries during the coming year. Many thanks to each family who placed items by their mailboxes for the food drive.
