— A 47-year-old East St. Louis man who used a wheelchair was found shot to death early Saturday.

Tyrone Graham, who used a wheelchair because of injuries he had suffered in a previous shooting, was found on the ground in the 1100 block of North 11th Street, St. Clair County Coroner Rick Stone said.

The bullet went through the back of the wheelchair and hit Graham in the back, Stone said.

Graham, of 615 N. 85th St., tumbled from the chair after he was shot.

Police Chief Michael Floore said the shooter is still on the loose.

"We have not identified any suspects at this time. We are currently conducting an investigation along with Illinois State Police," he said.

Police were called about the shooting about 6 a.m., Floore said.

He said police do not know the motive for the shooting.

The victim's wheelchair was found at the scene as well as one shell casing from a .22-caliber handgun, Floore said.
