Chicago Cubs claim reliever Eduardo Sanchez from St. Louis Cardinals

The Chicago Cubs announced Tuesday that they have claimed oft injured reliever Eduardo Sanchez from the Cardinals on Waivers.

Sanchez was waived from the 40-man roster to make room for Tyler Lyons who was summoned to the major league club to start in place of injured pitcher Jaime Garcia.

This really stinks. Sanchez had some control issues. But the guy had some of the nastiest breaking stuff I have ever seen. And that would seem to be a nice change of pace on a team that has an over abundance of hard throwing fastball pitchers.

To see him go to a division foe REALLY stinks. I'd rather have seen the Cardinals release Fernando Salas than Sanchez.
