McKendree donates to UN charity

News-DemocratMay 22, 2013

McKendree University has donated $1,000 to Nothing But Nets, a United Nations Foundation that raises awareness of malaria and fights its spread by distributing anti-malaria bed nets.

Two campus organizations raised money for the cause. The Inter-Greek Council, a student organization, solicited funds from its members and the student population and the campus ministry program, led by Rev. Dr. Tim Harrison, chaplain and director of church relations, also raised money through a goodwill offering at a recent chapel event.

Combined with a donation from the university, the groups raised enough money to reach their $1,000 target.
