Group donates dugouts to Citizens Park

— Citizens Park in Belleville now has two new dugouts thanks to a donation from the Citizens Park Board.

"Everybody's happy with them and they definitely are first-class," said Debbie Belleville, director of the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department.

Though the city owns the park, the non-city affiliated park board runs the concession stand and proceeds go toward park improvements.

Bobby Carmack, president of the park board, said the two dugouts in the upper field were finished earlier this week and the project cost about $40,000.

The park has an upper and lower field, where co-ed and men's softball leagues play six days a week, Carmack said.
