— Cheerleaders from Zion Lutheran School in Belleville are collecting toiletries for victims of the Moore, Okla., tornado.

The students will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday to make at least 100 kits that will be delivered to Oklahoma in the coming week.

The group is collecting shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, washcloths, lotion and deodorant.

Aside from donating these items, people can donate 1-gallon Ziploc bags and help make the emergency kits.

A second delivery date is set for June 7, so donations will be accepted until 6 p.m. June 5.

To donate items or volunteer, go to Zion Lutheran Church at 1810 McClintock Ave. in Belleville.

The school's cheer coach, Shannon Schmidt, said she encourages others in the metro-east to to help "spread good cheer."
