Sunny skies expected Friday; chance of rain for holiday weekend

News-DemocratMay 24, 2013

The temperature will not be much better Friday than it was the day before. But the sky will be a whole lot clearer.

The high temperature is expected to peak at 70 degrees in the metro-east, according to the National Weather Service. But the overcast that hung around all day Thursday will be gone and skies are predicted to be sunny for Friday.

Get out and enjoy the nice weather while you can. The forecast calls for a significant chance of rain throughout the rest of the Memorial Day weekend.

On Saturday there is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms with a high of 72. On Sunday there is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms with a high of 75; on Monday there is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms with a high of 79.
