Thieves steal items from unlocked cars in Millstadt

Millstadt police are dealing with a recent rash of thefts.

According to department reports, on Wednesday several cars on East and West Van Buren, West Harrison and East White streets as well as locations throughout the Alpine Trails subdivision were burglarized.

Taken were cash, wallets, a global positioning system, a portable fire radio and other various items from vehicles which were left unlocked. Many of the taken items were found in or around storm sewers in Alpine Trails.

Last week someone stole street signs in the Alpine Trails subdivision.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Millstadt Police Department at 476-7250.
