Beautiful weather Friday could give way to weekend rain

Sunny skies and pleasant temperatures are in the forecast for Friday.

But the rest of the weekend may not be exactly what metro-east dads had in mind.

The high temperature will peak at 82 Friday with a light breeze of about 5 miles an hour, according to the National Weather Service.

Overnight, a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms will move into the area by around 1 a.m. Saturday. The likelihood of rain will increase throughout the day. A 30 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms is expected during daylight hours with a high temperature of 88. By the evening the chance of rain will increase to 40 percent.

On Fathers Day Sunday, a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms is forecast with a high of 83.
