Donations needed to help residents beat the heat

Donations are needed to help keep metro-east residents cool this summer.

The Tom Quall's Foundation for People and Animals - Wishing Well Ministry is distributing bottled water, freeze pops, fans and air conditioners to help people through the ministry's Beat the Heat Program.

The ministry distributed 50 bags of bottled water, freeze pops, chips and sandwiches on Friday to residents in State Park Place, Fairmont City and Washington Park.

Donations are being accepted at the following mailing addresses: 204 John St., Collinsville, IL 62234 and 6105 N. Park Drive, Washington Park, IL 62204.
