Fire & Ice pushed its record to 3-2 on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Indiana United at Columbia High School in a game that was ended because of lightning with 36 minutes to play.
Gayla Foster, of Edwardsville, Jessie Crabtree and Rachel Tejada, of Troy, had goals for Fire & Ice, in its first season in the Women's Premier Soccer League.
Hannah Poteet, of O'Fallon, had two saves in goal, while her replacement, Maggie Dudas, had one.
Foster scored from Devon Thomas in the 20th minute before Crabtree scored on a penalty kick in the 36th minute to make it 2-0.
Indiana United cut its deficit to 2-1 in the 45th minute, but Fire & Ice sealed the outcome on Tejada's goal from Crabtree in the 47th minute.
Fire & Ice, which led 2-1 at halftime outshot Indiana United 13-3, while both teams had three corner kicks. Fire & Ice defeated Indiana United for the second time this season. It won the first game 2-1 on June 2.
Fire & Ice will play host to the Kansas City Shock at 7 p.m. on July 6, also at Columbia High School.
