Illinois State Police tested 17 businesses in Belleville, Caseyville and O'Fallon Thursday to see if they were selling alcohol to minors.

Every one of the businesses passed the exam, police reported.

The tests are conducted periodically to try to prevent businesses from illegally selling alcoholic beverages to people less than 21 years old. Although the businesses involved this time were not named, the Illinois State Police issued a statement saying it commends establishments which do not sell alcohol to minors.
