News-DemocratJune 19, 2013

Fires destroyed a pair of metro-east homes early Wednesday morning.

The first blaze started at about 1 a.m. in an unoccupied house in the 1200 block of Imogene Street in East St. Louis near the intersection of U.S. 50 and St. Clair Avenue.

The second broke out a few minutes later less than 10 miles away in another vacant home in the 100 block of Fourth Street in Cahokia.

Both of the fires are considered to be suspicious and are under investigation, according to firefighters. No one was injured putting them out.
