Sunny skies, a slight chance of storms Wednesday

Skies are expected to be sunny Wednesday with a high temperature of 87 degrees.

But metro-east residents should be alert for a slight chance of rough weather. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance for thunderstorms after 4 p.m.

The 20 percent chance of rain and storms will continue into Wednesday night and Thursday when the high temperature is expected to reach 89 degrees.

The extended forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the low 90s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
