Bielong takes checkered flag in TTG 100

Brian Bielong won the 100-lap TTG 100 last Friday at Belle-Clair Speedway, a UMP Modified race held in honor of former track announcer Mike Meurer.

Rusty Griffaw held the early lead through several cautions, including an accident on Lap 27. Bielong took command on Lap 44 and never looked back as only six cars took the checkered flag at the end of the 100-lap race.

Griffaw was second, followed by Tyler Diebert, Dennis Ponder and Zeb Moake.

Rick Salter won his first UMP Late Model feature race in a strong contest with Rick Standridge.

Jon Ripperda won the 15-lap UMP Sportsman feature and Jim Clark was second.

On Thursday night, Belle-Clair Speedway hosted the UMP Summer Nationals tour, paying UMP Late Models $5,000 to win the 50-lap feature. UMP Modifieds were racing for $1,000 to win in the Aaron's 30.

Tri-City Speedway

The UMP Summer Nationals Hell Tour visits Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach on Friday featured a $10,000 to win showdown for UMP Late Models.

UMP Modifieds and UMP Pro Crate Late Models will race for $1,000 to win. General admission tickets are $28, gates open at 4 p.m.

Super Chevy Show

Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison will host the Super Chevy Show Friday through Sunday, billed as the premier national event for all Chevrolet enthusiasts and the largest single-make car show in the country.

The event includes drag racing, a car show, a vendor midway, swap meet and car corral.

Weekend tickets are $35, other tickets are $10 for Friday, $20 for Saturday and $15 for Sunday. Children ages 6-12 are $5 and under-6 are free.

Highland Speedway

Highland Speedway will host "Leaps of Love Night at the Races" as part of its full racing program on Saturday. The event will celebrate Leaps of Love, an organization that embraces families affected by childhood cancer.

For more information, visit Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m. Box seats are $15 and general grandstand admission is $12.

After four wins and two second-place finishes this season, a $500 bounty has been placed on Chad Zobrist for anyone that can knock him out of victory lane this week.

To b eligible for the bounty money, the driver must announce they are coming to knock Zobrist out of victory lane on the Highland Speedway Facebook page.

Federated Auto Parts Raceway

Scott Weber won the UMP Late Models feature race last Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.

Dewayne Kiefer was second and Brian Dively was third.

Rusty Griffaw won the UMP Modified feature and Jon Ripperda won the UMP/AARA Sportsman feature. Travis Bittle won the UMP/AARA Pro 4 Stocks feature race.

On Saturday, the track will host the Street Stock Spectacular featuring a $500 to win street stock special. All other classes are also running.
