A 25-year-old Belleville man was arraigned in federal court Friday on child pornography charges, among others, U.S. Attorney Stephen Wigginton announced.
Daris A. Quinn, known as "DQ," was charged with distribution of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct; possession of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct; using a communication facility to facilitate a drug transaction; and making a false statement to a U.S. postal inspector.
Quinn was being held Friday without bond pending his trial, which is scheduled for Aug. 26. If convicted on the child porn charges, he faces up to 30 years in prison. If convicted on the other two charges, it could add up to an additional nine years in prison.
The case was investigated by the Collinsville Police Department, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Springfield Child Exploitation Task Force.
