Some metro-east residents remain without power after Sunday night storms

Pockets of metro-east residents remained without power Monday morning after electricity was knocked out by Sunday evening storms.

According to Ameren, about 80 customers in the Granite City area, 60 customers in the Washington Park area, 55 in Belleville, 37 in Collinsville and 25 in Fairmont City were without power at 7 a.m. Monday.

About 12,000 metro-east residents were without power at 9:30 p.m. Sunday following a storm that dropped nearly 4 inches of rain on parts of the area, felled tree branches across the area and damaged fences and garage doors.

More than 2,000 customers remain without power in Missouri on Monday morning.
