The investigation continued Tuesday into the death of a 3-month-old infant who died Saturday in Belleville. Authorities released the name of the child, Gage Wylie-Singleton, but have not released the cause of death.

Results of an autopsy performed Sunday were not available, according to the St. Clair County coroner's office.

Prosecutors from the Children's Justice Division have been assigned to work the case, St. Clair County State's Attorney Brendan Kelly has said.

Belleville police responded to a home in the 1600 block of LaSalle Street at 8:30 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report that a child was unresponsive.

Emergency medical crews arrived and took the child to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A visitation for Gage will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home in Belleville. Funeral services will be held following the visitation. He will be buried at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Belleville.

Gage is the son of Rebekah Wylie Karter, of Belleville, and Patrick "Bo" Singleton, of Granite City, according to his obituary. He also is survived by two brothers, Austin and Michael, and a sister, Brianna.
