Small departments, big jobs

June 26, 2013

As I was reading an article in today's BND it occurred to me that we, the general public, don't often give credit to small town police departments when it is due. These Departments are often the first respondents to a variety of situations and their handling of it sets the tone for how it will end. The incident Tuesday involved a despondent young woman and Dupo Police were first respondents. Though later other police and the St Clair Special Response Team assumed responsibility, those first critical moments were the responsibility of Dupo police officers. They did their job well and no one was injured in the incident. Well done, Dupo, and other small town police officers
