Sunny on Thursday, storms possible later

Skies are expected to be mostly sunny throughout the day Thursday with the high temperature reaching 92 degrees.

But the National Weather Service warns that severe weather is a possibility for later in the day. There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday night.

The forecast for Friday calls for mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of 88 degrees. This weekend metro-east residents will get a break from the recent high temperatures with highs in the upper 70s. There is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Saturday and a 30 percent chance on Sunday.
