St. Louis County Police have revealed that three people suspected of stealing about 70 cellphones Wednesday morning in Missouri were pulled over by the Illinois State Police a short time later near Troy.

A vehicle matching the one used in the robbery of an AT&T store at 7345 S. Lindbergh Blvd. was spotted by a trooper and pulled over on Interstate 55-70. A 26-year-old woman inside was arrested. But two men fled on foot and were able to escape.

According to St. Louis County Police spokesman George Vaugn, the stolen phones were recovered in a wooded area.

The suspects still at large are described as black males, one who was wearing a boonie hat during the robbery. The suspects robbed the phone store, displaying a handgun and tying up employees before taking off with the phones. The third suspect was waiting nearby in the getaway car, a beige Buick.
