Don't be so quick to judge

June 27, 2013

The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy but it is also a tragedy to judge before the evidence is heard.

The news media has been guilty of reporting inflammatory untruths about this tragic event. Comments have been made here about Martin being "shot in cold blood" or "deserving what he got." Comments have. been made by our lawmakers in Washington that "George Zimmerman hunted Trayvon down like a dog." I heard on one of the talk shows that, "Zimmerman stood over him and shot him three times."

There have been many comments made about what happened and how but none are known as facts. No one but Zimmerman now knows the truth.

Was Martin wrong for being in the neighborhood? Probably not. Was Zimmerman wrong for being suspicious? No.

It was tragic for both young men and tragic that so many have judged. Hopefully the jury will come to a fair and logical decision.
