Donations sought for toddler's funeral

News-DemocratJuly 2, 2013

A fund has been set up to collect money to pay for the funeral services of Nathan Hubert, the two-year-old boy who died last month after being left in a hot car in O'Fallon.

A donation page set up on YouCaring.com has collected $2,666 as of Tuesday morning which will be given to Nathan's mother Tere Hubert and her daughter, Natalie. The site lists 47 contributors to the fund which will remain open until July 31.

"In addition to dealing emotionally with the tragic loss of little Nathan, Tere now faces substantial and unexpected costs, including those related to the memorial service," collection organizer Penny Smith wrote on the fundraiser page. "Money should be the last thing on Tere's mind at this time, which is why we have set up this fund for her and Natalie. All proceeds will be used to ease the financial burden on the family so that they can focus on remembering Nathan's life."
