MILLSTADT — A woman crashed her car through the front doors of Scott Credit Union on Wednesday.
Police Chief Ed Wilkerson said the driver of the Ford Taurus was not seriously injured in the 12:30 p.m. crash, but she was transported to Memorial Hospital in Belleville by Millstadt Ambulance Service as a precaution.
A patron in the bank also was transported to Memorial as a precaution, Wilkerson said.
The driver of the car, whose name was not released by police, was not ticketed, Wilkerson said. "We're not exactly sure how it happened," he said.
The 2004 Ford Taurus is registered to Albert and Carol Hucke of Millstadt, according to Illinois Secretary of State records.
The car was towed out of the building at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Millstadt firefighters helped police at the credit union.
