Mon-Clair League to meet Clinton County League in annual all-star game

Some of the top amateur baseball players in the region will meet at GCS Ballpark in Sauget at 7 p.m. July 17 for the annual Mon-Clair League/Clinton County League All-Star Game.

The leagues feature some of the area's top baseball talent of all ages and they meet each year for metro-east bragging rights. Tickets are $5 each and will be available at the gate.

Here is the Mon-Clair League All-Stars roster; the Clinton County League All-Star roster will be chosen Sunday.

Mon-Clair League Starters

First base: Dan Munoz, Belleville (.500, four homers, 16 RBIs); Second base: Sam Wahlig, Fairview Heights (.500, 11 RBIs); Shortstop: Tony Kossina, Millstadt (.348, 10 RBIs, 12 stolen bases); Third Base: Jeff Schwierjohn, Edwardsville (.441, five RBIs); Catcher: Brad Dunnigan, Fairview Heights (.385, one homer, nine RBIs); Left field: Tyler Muren, Millstadt (.419, two homers, 16 RBIs); Center field: Michael Adamson, Fairview Heights (.333, one homer, eight RBIs); Right field: Ben Thoma, Valmeyer (.300, three homers, 10 RBIs); DH: Kyle Stanton, Millstadt (.435, 10 RBIs); Starting pitcher: Sam Lidisky, Millstadt (7-0, 1.39 ERA).
