Elderly man attacked in restroom at Collinsville Hardee's

Collinsville police are looking for a man who allegedly beat an elderly man in the restroom of the Hardee's restaurant on Beltline Road in Collinsville on Saturday morning.

The suspect followed a customer into the restroom, battered him and attempted to steal the victim's wallet, according to Collinsville police who responded to the incident just before 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the male suspect was accompanied by a female. Both suspects fled the area in a white Ford Escape. The vehicle was last seen traveling west on Beltline Road.

Detective Mark Kuechle said the victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The male suspect was white with a thin build, short, dark hair and a goatee type beard. He was wearing a white tee-shirt and jeans. The female was white with a dark brown hair and was also wearing a white top and jeans.
