Potentially dangerous temperatures expected the rest of this week

Metro-east residents should be careful Wednesday not to get overheated.

The high temperature is expected to be 94 degrees under mostly sunny skies. But it will feel much hotter with a heat index that is predicted to reach 102, according to the National Weather Service.

There won't be much of a breeze to help people cool off. Winds are expected to be calm throughout the day.

There will be little relief later in the week.

The high temperature Thursday is expected to be 102 with he heat index remaining at 102 and a slight, warm breeze from the south.

On Friday the temperature will reach 94 degrees during the day. During the evening a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms will move into the area.
