Deputies bring in teen for questioning in fatal hit and run near Cahokia

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday deputies have found the person of interest they wanted to question in connection with the hit and run that left a 9-year-old boy dead.

Fabian Teason was struck on Thursday while he was riding his bicycle in the 2400 block of Lorraine Avenue near Cahokia.

Kevin Powell, 17, is the person of interest. He was found about 11 a.m. Wednesday in Washington Park.

Lt. Scott Weymouth, sheriff's chief investigator, did not have additional details to release Wednesday afternoon.
