— A 20-year-old woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly giving a note demanding money to a bank teller at Regions Bank on Carlyle Avenue.

The woman fled the bank shortly before 10 a.m. without receiving any money from the teller, according to police. Belleville police, including a K-9 unit, found the suspect a short time later with the help of a witness who followed the woman from the bank.

No one was hurt during the alleged attempted robbery and the woman did not display a weapon, according to police.

Belleville detectives will seek felony charges on Monday morning. The woman, whose name was not released, will remain in custody until that time, police said.
