A march and rally was held on Saturday July 20, 2013 in East St. Louis as a show of solidarity between the residents of the city and the parents of Trayvon Martin. Trayvon's father, Tracy Martin, formerly lived in East St. Louis and still has many friends there. About 400 people marched from the parking lot of the East St. Louis Board of Education at 1005 State Street to the United States Federal Courthouse, 750 Missouri Avenue, where the rally was held on the courthouse steps with prayers, songs, and speakers.
