Cardinals scout Peavy start with White Sox

According to Fox Sports the Cardinals had a scout at the Saturday night game between the Atlanta Braves and the Chicago White Sox.

The game marked the return of Pale Hose starting pitcher Jake Peavy from the disabled list where he dealt with a rib injury.

Peavy was OK but not great in his return. He earned the win with a six-inning performance in which he allowed four runs on seven hits. He didn't walk anybody while striking out three Atlanta batters.

Another potential St. Louis trade target, shortstop Alexei Ramirez, collected one hit in five at-bats. He stands at .289 for the season in the batting average department, usually hitting second for Chicago. He has a .314 on base percentage and has stolen 20 bases in 25 tries.

Outfielder Alex Rios, pulled from the White Sox game the night before for failing to hustle on a double play ball, had a big night. He had three hits in five at-bats, scored two runs and drove in five more.
