Beverley & Stanley Lewis

Stanleyand Beverley Lewis of Marissa, IL will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Sat. July 27, 2013with friends and family with a come and go reception from 2:00-5:00pm at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 415 S. Hamilton, Marissa, IL.

Stan and the former Beverley Harriman were married on June 1, 1963 at the First United Methodist Church in Marissa, IL by Rev. John Cummings assisted by Rev. Harold Slaten.

Stan is retired from Peabody Coal Company and Lake Egypt Fire Dist, where he was Fire Chief for 8 years. He is active serving on the board at First United Methodist Church, working with the explorer program at Marissa Fire Dept, teaching IL fire service institute classes for U of I and is still active on the Marissa Volunteer Fire Dept, where he has been a member for 42 years, serving as chief for 22 years and has served as captain for the past year.

Bev is retired from Sparta Hospital and Fox Flowers and Gifts in Marion, IL. She is enjoying time with her grandchildren and has been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marissa where she has attended for the past 65 years.

They have 4 children: Stanley “Scott” Lewis of Marion, IL; Julie (Scott) Thannum of North Richland Hills, TX: Dale-Lee (Melinda) Lewis of Marissa, IL and Susan (Bill) Juenger of Lenzburg, IL.

They have 18 grandchildren: Derrick (Emma), Thomas, Samantha, Joshua, Riley, Curtis, Jacob, Megan, Madison, Alexandria, Lillian, Douglas, Molly, Cameron, Ryan, Kaylee, Jackson and Emily.

They have 1 great-grandchild: Bradlee.
