Crews respond to multiple-car accident on I-64

Police and firefighters responded to a multiple-car accident with injuries about 11 a.m. on Interstate 64 in Lebanon.

O'Fallon Fire Chief Brent Saunders said his department was called in to assist the Lebanon Fire Department.

According to police radio traffic, the crash happened in the westbound lanes near the interstate's intersection with Illinois 4. Air bags were deployed in vehicles involved and multiple ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Additional information about injuries or the cause of the accident were not immediately available.
