SHILOH — Police have arrested a man they believe committed two armed robberies.
Davichion "Dee" Washington, 19, of Shiloh was charged on Saturday with two counts of armed robbery, each a Class X felony.
The Midwest Petroleum Station on Hartman Lane was robbed about 5:15 a.m. Friday by a young man in a gray hooded sweatshirt with "Louisville" written on it, according to police. The man entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money, police said. The man fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A few hours later, State Cleaners on Lebanon Avenue also reported an armed robbery by a young man in a sweatshirt with lettering on it, who also got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
No one was injured in either robbery, and the clerk in each business was alone at the time.
Washington was arrested Friday. Shiloh Police Sgt. Kyle Bade said some property was recovered, but could not say how much.
St. Clair County Associate Judge Brian Babka set bail at $750,000. Washington was being held in the St. Clair County Jail.
