Look for lane closures on I-270 until October

News-DemocratJuly 27, 2013

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that lanes of Interstate 270, in both directions, will be intermittently closed beginning Monday.

The closures will begin from Illinois 3 to one mile east of Interstate 55-70, weather permitting. The closures are necessary so crews can patch damaged pavement. Lanes will be open during specific peak traffic hours.

Motorists should expect delays of 30 minutes to an hour during lane closures and should consider alternate routes.

The closures are expected to continue through Oct. 24.
