Three shot overnight in East St. Louis

Police are investigating a pair of shootings in East St. Louis that left three people hospitalized.

According to reports, the first shooting happened at 529 N. 45th St. It is believed that a pair of men became involved in a gun battle and shot each other.

One of the injured men was found at the site and another was found about a block away, where he had collapsed. No information was available Friday morning about the condition of the men.

A second shooting took place at about 2:30 a.m. on Collinsville Avenue. When officers arrived the victim was gone. He turned up a short time later at Touchette Regional Hospital.

Information about that victim's condition was not available.
