Commuter alert: Fog across region this morning

Driving is hazardous across parts of the St. Louis metropolitan area Tuesday morning because of heavy fog in places.

The fog is especially thick in the southern part of the region including the Illinois 3 area, Interstate 255 and the Jefferson Barracks Bridge in Monroe County and south St. Louis County.

There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms in the metro-east before 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, with a predicted high temperature of 85 degrees.

The chance of rain increases to 70 percent Tuesday evening.

On Wednesday there is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms with a high of 87 degrees expected.
